Review of Restaurant:
  • Why did I come to this restaurant?

To celebrate my chum's birthday, his girlfriend booked this restaurant in order for our group to enjoy a nice Italian meal. Service was amazing. Our waitress and the owner made sure that our group was well taken care of.
  • How did my sensitive stomach feel?

The amount of food I had that night was astounding. At the end of the day, I didn't even feel full at all. I would have been broke if I ate like no tomorrow. Italian food never caused a stomach upset.

There is nothing to talk regarding the inspection report. If I do, I'll end up in a ditch somewhere in a rural area, best to keep my mouth shut. It's also not a Chinese restaurant.

VERDICT: APPROVED!

Review of Restaurant:
  • Why did I come to this restaurant?

I came across an article on The Toronto Star "Ontario turtle soup on the menu brings $10,000 fine for restauranteur". Having eaten turtle shells before called guilinggao, I wanted to try the turtles. I like to eat endangered species before they become extinct so I can describe to my grandchildren what spiny softshell turtles tasted like. (Sarcasm, if you didn't get it cause some people won't get it.)

This is the true story. My brother came back to town and he was craving for some real Chinese food, not your Manchu Wok. I read the Toronto Star article and just wanted to see if the turtle was still on the menu. You know, Chinese people are greedy people that don't learn. Just look at Pacific Mall, close on DVD shop, ten more show up. The mall has changed since the police made more raids.
  • What did I think of the service?

No turtle on the menu. I was disappointed. I would have been featured on the follow-up article for cracking down on an illegal spiny softshell turtle smuggling ring.

The waiters kept glancing at my camera while I was taking pictures of the foods, which really annoyed me. I just took quick shots and stowed it back.

Service was fast though since the waiters/waitresses were plenty and customers were few. I guess most left since turtle was not on the menu. In other news, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles begins filming on April 4, 2013. Coincidence, I think not.
  • How did my sensitive stomach feel?

It felt like I just got a high score playing snakes on my old Nokia phone. It literally passed through my stomach.

July 27, 2011 - Conditional pass for failing to have separate handwashing sink. Do they wash their hands where they wash their vegetables and dishes?

December 11, 2012 - Conditional pass again for failing to ensure proper utensils, failing to ensure proper procedures to ensure food safety, failing to properly wash multi-use utensils and failing to properly maintain equipment. Wowzers, so many significant infractions. They also got ticketed for minor infractions, since it wasn't their first time. Despite these negative inspection results, my stomach passed, with flying colours.

VERDICT: APPROVED, but not for much longer.....there will be a time where I will shut it down.
